We hear you about the ads.

Last week we updated iCheckbook to include advertisements in which we thought was a very subtle manner as to not be too invasive. However, we have received numerous complaints about it and our rating is really suffering. Along with the advertising updates to iCheckbook we released iCheckbookPro so everyone who didn’t like the ads could use that app for $1.99 instead. However, there isn’t a good way to migrate your existing data from one app to another.

We sincerely apologize for the inconvenience this update is causing and are working hard to fix it. We will be re-releasing iCheckbook with ads, BUT you will be able to turn them off directly within iCheckbook for $1.99. Apple takes 5 – 7 days to review each release before it is available to everyone so it won’t be available until next week.

Our cost to support iCheckbook continues to rise and until now iCheckbook was completely free. We believe this is good compromise and for everyone who doesn’t mind the advertisements on the list of transactions page all the functionality will remain completely free.

We have learned a very valuable lesson from all of this: people hate advertising in there mobile apps!
