iCheckbook 1.5 is on its way!

We have recently released an update to the App Store to address an iOS 5 issue with the Recurring Transactions functionality.

We apologize for any inconvenience this may have caused!

Also, we are putting together another release to help address some of the concerns about going into a negative balance. We have seen a few reviews mentioning the formula was incorrect and a user went into over draft because of it. As you can imagine, this is extremely concerning, so we poured over the code and doubled checked our unit tests to ensure the logic is correct.

It didn’t occur to us that this could be a user interface issue until Anthony was so kind to send us in a suggestion. We have always represented negative numbers in iCheckbook as ($1.23) with the parentheses indicating that this is negative. This is a standard account method of indicating a negative number, but it may not be the most intuitive when it is displayed as we currently do for the account balances. Instead we are going to use (-$1.23) and display it in red which we believe is strongly illustrating a negative balance.

Anthony, thank you so much for this suggestion!

Everyone, please continue to send us your feedback on our Support page.

We sincerely hope iCheckbook is an app you all enjoy using every day!
